Compass School Manager (often called just “Compass”) is a web-based school management system and mobile app used by schools to handle administration, communication, and student learning
Parents and Families Can track student attendance, explain late arrivals or absences, view academic reports, pay and give consent for school event and/or excursions, book parent-teacher conferences, view school calendar, communication with teachers and read school news.
In the past Parent Payments and Contributions have enabled us to provide additional resources and programs to the school community and our students. Government funding does not provide the level of funding required to continue to resource some of these programs.
The funding received from Curriculum Contributions enables us to ensure all students have access to high quality Mathematics and Literacy resources. We have invested money into resourcing these areas, so that students can access the necessary equipment and tools to support their learning. As well as providing up to date and engaging resources for our Specialist Programs which have included programs and equipment for Visual & Performing Arts and Health & Physical Education, Wellbeing and STEM (including coding, robots and digital technologies).
The Curriculum Contributions have enabled us to access digital learning apps to support Literacy and Numeracy. These funds have also supported the school in purchasing and maintaining devices like Chromebooks, iPads and laptops for use in the classroom by all students.
Some products are listed as optional. These items are only required if replacements are needed otherwise, please retain these items from previous years.
All book lists need to be completed online, booklists will not be accepted through the front office.
Families can also purchase their own stationery items from other sources – and bring ALL items on the first day of Term 1, 2026.
PlanSafe is an online Safety Induction and Emergency Management Program that provides safety information and training to targeted groups within our school community.
Open the following file for instructions to complete the induction process. This needs to be completed every 12 months.

For child safety reasons, we ask that students are not dropped off at school before 8.45am as staff are not on duty for supervision until then.
EVERY DAY COUNTS – Attending all day, every day, helps students build their learning and maintain strong social connections with their friends and teachers. Each lesson provides a foundation for the next one, making it easier to learn the next concept.
Attendance rolls are marked at 9am and 2.30pm daily. An SMS alerting parent/carer of absence is sent at 10am each morning. If your student will be late or absent, please add an attendance note on Compass as soon as possible. Alternatively, please email or call the Admin Office.
Students are required to sign in at the office upon arrival.
Once signed in, students are to take a late pass to their teacher which indicates they have now been marked present on the roll
If a student is required to leave school
early, please email the details through to the school.
Please come into the office to collect your student. Kiss & Go pick up during the day is no longer available due to child safety obligations.
A Student Absent Learning Plan (SALP) is required for planned absences of 5 days or more. This form requires the parent, classroom teacher, and Principal’s signature at least 4 weeks prior to the students leave. Please request a SALP form from your classroom teacher.

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families cover the costs of school excursions & incursions, camps and sporting activities.
If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card, or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seekers and refugee families.
Payments are made direct to the school to use towards expenses relating to Camps, Excursions, and Sporting activities for the benefit of your student.
If you applied for CSEF through our school in 2025, you do not need to reapply, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances (additional student starting at CSPS).
If you would like to apply for the first time, please request a copy of the CSEF application from our school office. Once completed, please return the form along with a copy of your current Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card.

Assessment and Reporting are integral parts of the teaching and learning program at Cranbourne South Primary School and important aspects of the work of teachers and students. Assessment & Reporting combine to support students to achieve high standards and to provide the basis for guiding further learning, as well as informing parents about their child’s achievement.

School commences at 9:00am and concludes at 3:30pm. Recess is from 11:00am to 11:30am, and Lunch is from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. Yard supervision is provided from 8:45am before school and until 3:45pm after school.
Regular attendance is crucial for your child’s learning. If your child is absent, please log the absence via the Compass Parent Portal before 9:00am, or call the school office. Unexplained absences will trigger an SMS alert to parents.
Our school uniform is compulsory. It fosters a sense of identity and pride in our school. Uniforms can be purchased from our supplier, PSW. Second-hand uniforms are occasionally available through the Parents & Friends Association.
Booklists for the following year are distributed in Term 4. Parents can order online through our preferred supplier for delivery to school or home. Alternatively, parents may source the items independently.
Cranbourne South Primary School makes every effort to keep the cost of items and activities to a minimum and affordable for all parents. Payment arrangements can be made confidentially through the Business Manager.
Camp Australia operates our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program on-site. The program runs from 6:30am to 8:45am, and 3:30pm to 6:00pm. Registration must be completed directly with Camp Australia.
